MY BACKGROUND

Since freshman year, I have been an active member of my school and community. As I look ahead to graduation and beyond, I am eager to continue combining my passions for business, economics, and helping others at the undergraduate level. In the long term, I see myself using my skills not only for my personal achievement, but also to lift others up as they face their own struggles.

"Making Sens - ory"

I produced and directed a documentary film titled “Making Sens-o-ry”, highlighting Sensory Processing Disorder about the challenges I faced and the obstacles I overcame. I entered it into more than a dozen film festivals to inspire others to navigate their own paths with compassion and understanding. Currently the film is accepted as a Finalist at the Student Los Angeles Film award festival and as an official selection at the NY Long Island Film Festival where it is also nominated to the Special Recognition Award.

* Assisted with data entry and file management, digitizing over 500 client records to improve office efficiency and accessibility. * Designed office Brochures for local distribution. * Monitored and maintained office supply inventory.

Rolling River Day Camp Counselor in Training (CIT)                Grade: 9

* Assisted lead counselors in supervising and engaging groups of 15-20 children aged 6-12 in daily recreational activities and educational programs. * Developed and implemented age-appropriate games and crafts, fostering creativity and teamwork among campers. * Supported camp safety protocols, including maintaining proper camper-to-staff ratios and administering basic first aid when needed.

Camp Anchor Volunteer -                   

I volunteered for two summers at the Town of Hempstead's Camp Anchor 6-week summer recreation program for the benefit of children and adult residents with disabilities. My goal was to deliver the highest quality and most fulfilling experience for ANCHOR program participants.

Consortia for Learning and Service to Special Populations(CLASSP) Coach -

I teach a group of special needs adults and children life skills in a variety of activities including cooking, basketball, fitness, and boxing. I am responsible for helping to solve behavior problems and making sure all participants have a fun time. Prior to taking on this role, I attended 15 hours of required college-level instruction, completing homework and case studies.

Intergenerational Engagement Volunteer Director at Genuine Connections Program -  

I lead the program planning and execution while engaging with elderly clients focusing on aging-related challenges; coordinate intergenerational activates; sponsored by Excelsior University (earning 1 college credit)

Best Buddies Member -

Active member of the Best Buddies Club, dedicating 2 hours weekly to mentoring and supporting students with special needs. Organized and participated in inclusive social events, fostering a more understanding and accepting school community.
